Yu-Druk Tours & Treks
About Yu Druk

Sonam Wangmo |
Yudruk Tours & Treks is the first private trekking company set up in Bhutan. It was founded by Sonam Wangmo in 1985 as a sub agent for the then Government Tourism Corporation. In 1991 the Government privatised tourism and then emerged a number of agents. Today, Yu-Druk is one of the only companies that can provide for and cater to individual interests and needs. Being the oldest, we have learned how to provide what our clients want, be it an individual person or a group.
| | In 1993 Rinzin Ongdra Wangchuk joined Yudruk as managing partner. He brings management and travel experience to the company. With his joining, a whole new concept emerged 'specialized catering to indiviuals'. Yu-Druk can now boast of being the first to have an online booking facility on its web site and a fully computerised office network directly connected to hotel, air and visa processing. We are now sure that nothing is left out. Rinzin has participated in several international tourism conferences and meetings to put Yu-Druk on the international scene.

Dear Sonam, Rinzin and Wangchuk,
We returned home last Tuesday night after a marathon plane trip from
Bangkok. Too many hours in the air.
I wanted to thank you all again for making our trip to Bhutan so memorable.
We certainly enjoyed the experience and learned a great deal about your
country.
Sonam, I have posted a recommendation on the Lonely Planet web site listed
as "Bhutan" under the Thorn Tree section. You may want to look it up,
print it our, send it to all of your potential customers or whatever. And,
please thank Peter again for the wonderful tour of his architectural
creation for the Hanover fair. Who knows, we may end up in Germany next
spring to see it completed.
Rinzin and Wangchuk - many thanks for your patience and personal attention.
Cheers.

Dear Rinzin, Sonam and the staff of Yu-Druk Tours,
I want to take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks and
appreciation for the exceptional trip you arranged for us. We
both enjoyed it tremendously and cannot begin to describe the wonderful memories
we will treasure for a lifetime. Sagar and Dal Bdr. were great. Their
knowledge and expertise added much to the overall enjoyment of the trip,
but more importantly, they each contributed a friendly personality and fun
sense of humor to the experience -- the trip wouldn't have been the same without
them!
It was a pleasure working with and meeting you and I am already
counting the days until I can begin planning a return visit to Bhutan.
Best wishes and Tashi Delek,
Virginia (USA)
