Taktshang Monastery After a devastating fire in 2005.
Taktsang monastery has been restored to its grandeur. Many donors have contributed generously to its reconstruction.
It is ever worthwhile walking up to the overlook.
The country continues to be quite crowded with tourists during the
time of the Thimphu Tsechu in the autumn and the Paro Tsechu in the
spring. These festivals also happen to coincide with the time of the
best weather in Bhutan.

In an effort to spread the visitor arrivals throughout the year, the
government has introduced special rates for visits during the "off
season" months of December, January, February, June, July and August.
The base rate for travel during those months is US$165 per day instead
of the normal $200 per day.
To encourage travellers to take advantage of longer treks, the
government now allows a discount of 10% from the daily rate for day 11
to 20 of a stay in Bhutan and a 20% discount for day 21 onwards.
The small group surcharge is still $40 for one person and $30 per person
for two people, but there is no surcharge for 3 or more people in a
group (it used to be 4).
Visa Procedures If you have received a fax copy of your visa
authorisation, it is useful to bring a copy with you in case of
confusion at the Druk Air check-in counter or at the visa counter at
Paro airport. The authorisation letter has a reference number that can
help the authorities find their copy of the authorisation letter.
Airport Arrival A large new airport terminal building, complete with
belts for delivery of baggage opened in April 1999. It is no longer
necessary to go outside to the taxiway to collect your checked baggage.

Only one passport photo is required when you arrive in Thimphu.
Communications Bhutan is widely connected by internet, faster broadband services are being introduced with
the entry of new ISPs.
Country is also connected with mobile phone technology, a new mobile service provider has brought the cost of calls dramaticly lower.
